Stories from Nepal, East Africa and Mexico – SGT Studio Final Presentations
Aalto students share their stories and learnings from sustainable development projects around the world.
Sustainable reconstruction after earthquake in Nepal, sanitation in Dar es Salaam informal settlements, water services in rural Kenya, plastic waste up-cycling in Kampala and water quality testing and eco-tourism activities in two Mayan villages in Mexico. This year multidisciplinary teams from Aalto’s SGT Studio course and project countries worked together with six different development challenges in five countries.

SGT – Sustainable Global Technologies Programme combines engineering, architecture, design and business to contribute to sustainable development and global challenges. Each year, students take part in real-life projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America to study the diverse connections between sustainability, technology, cultural and societal challenges.
